Priority(ies)

Okay, I was gone for a minute but I’m back now.” Trying to sound like Logic in his song Everybody.

Lately, I have been so mute and absent. I want to say it was because I had school to deal with, but then that will just sound like I’m trying to make excuses.

So this is how I’m going to put it, in terms of priorities. I have this belief that you can’t have multiple priorities simultaneously, while being 100% efficient in all of them. For this reason, I prefer giving my divine attention to one subject matter and yielding good results in return.

This doesn’t mean that I don’t do anything else though; It means that the other things I do are not as demanding. We all have the basic things we have to do on a daily basis. I am not talking about those, rather, I’m talking on the taxing activities we put ourselves through in order to achieve some sort of goal.

These activities can be a one hour job or even a years work. Take my case for instance, I had decided to prioritize my studies. It does not necessarily mean that I couldn’t write, but since I wanted to give my writing the same level of attention, I decided to do it after my examinations. In turn, my mind would be more willing to concentrate and articulate my points of view.

Many people I have come across have disputed this by saying that they can multi task and that someone can simultaneously have two priorities . I’m still trying to see it from their perspective to no avail. Leave a comment below if you think that’s your case and help me come to a conclusive understanding.
